Laura's artistic talents go beyond stationery to help you not only organize your party, but also and more importantly, enjoy it! Her attention to detail creates a unique experience for each client.
Laura is first and foremost a teacher, holding certificates in elementary education, middle school mathematics, and business. Her most recent achievement was securing highly qualified status in middle school language arts--illustrating her love of life-long learning. She integrates elements of entrepreneurship into her classes, and makes real-life connections from owning her own business to help her students learn better.
When she launched Party Pleazers in 2002, Laura was a full service event planner. Her work has evolved over the years to focus exclusively on stationery--continuing to reinvent her products as clients choose between traditional paper products and modern electronic communications.
Prior to starting the company, in 2006 Ms. Gordon was director of business planning and communications at Prudential Financial in the Prudential Investments business. Ms. Gordon was a contributor on the communications task force supporting the merger of American Skandia and Prudential Annuities, providing the foundation for a successful integration of the two firms.
In addition, Ms. Gordon organized business communications for her constituents--including speeches and presentations--resulting in increased employee commitment and productivity compared to industry benchmarks, while securing two industry communications awards. Her accomplishments also included planning meaningful and productive events, helping her clients reach their audience and objectives. Redesigning clearer client communications for the annuity business resulted in increased levels of customer understanding and decreased call-center volume.
In 1990, Ms. Gordon started her career in financial services at Chase Manhattan Bank, where she held various operations management positions from the onset as a member of an executive management training program. In six years, Ms. Gordon advanced from an assistant treasurer of technology through second vice president of foreign exchange and commodity fund operations.
In 1989, Ms. Gordon's first experience on Wall Street was as a summer intern at Bear Stearns in fixed income sales.
She hold a Bachelor of Arts degree—in economics and finance—from The Catholic University of America, and is currently a Master of Arts candidate at Montclair University.
